Confuciusly Inspired

i met an old friend today :)
by old friend, i mean literally old friend.
he's probably around his 80's, he's the cutest asian man out.
his name is mr. lee ^^ (go talk to him, he's mega nice and speaks perfect english. no asian accent promise )
if you guys go to eastwood a lot, you might recognise him
through his white samoy dog.

his dog's name is ash and family name is lee.
So therefore, join the two together Ash Lee :)
i hadn't seen him for a while so i thought it was good to catch up with him
before my epic longass tutor about synthetic polymers in chemistry (Y)

one thing he said to me was really encouraging ..
You look like a very bright and clever girl, so persevere through this year and I know you can achieve your goals :) Confucius once said "Choose a job you love, and you'll never have to work a day in your life."

my all time favourite Confucius quotes :

"Our greatest glory is not in never falling,
but in rising every time we fall. "

there is nothing bad about failing,
it just means that you're able to learn from that experience.
It's important to persevere through your problems and improve on
yourself and ultimately succeed in becoming a better person :)

"Real knowledge is to know
the extent of one's ignorance."

ignorance: wilful neglect or refusal to acquire knowledge.
It is thought that not being ignorant can widen
one's perspective on all aspects of life.
I guess that saying is sorta false "ignorance is bliss" is some aspects.
On the one hand, being ignorant can mean you can have
quite a subjective view on life,
whilst ignorance to degradation can only mean
that you are able to adapt a resilient lifestyle.

"Everything has beauty,
but not everyone sees it."
Our view is constantly distorted by many things.
Our personal view can be easily influenced by media and people in our life.
Some can have positive and negative impacts.
It's what YOU choose, what comments affect you.
People always feel the need to evaluate everyone,
don't let them bring you down,
but choose to use it as a catalytic factor into improving yourself.
P.S YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL !

"Never impose on others what
you would not choose for yourself."

This reminded me of the book " The Lorax" by Dr. Seuss.
This specific page shows that compassion is a key aspect of life.
People have altered views of compassion,
it isn't about looking down on someone in pity,
it's about being able to look someone as 100% equal to you.
It's about being able to relate to another person,
this means you aren't able to lose who you are as a person,
but being able to see another person's point of view.

"I hear and i forget.
I see and i remember.
I do and i understand."

We are able to agree that through personally experiencing
something is where we can truly understand a situation.
This is applicable to people in all walks of life, good or bad,
all of us can relate one way or another.
We need a perfect balance in our life
in order to learn from our experiences.
To know and not to do, doesn't make us learn.
By taking part in doing something is when
we can truly harmonise with reality.
